Day THREE
==========
HOT SPRING @ Yang Ming Shan
Hot spring experience was somewhat horrifying! only me, ah yi, lou, lynn & jas went. the lovey dovey ones went for some sight-seeing ((: there are 2 main ones in taipei. one at beitou, the other at yang ming shan. over at yang ming shan, there are many operators and you can actually choose which one you wanna go. went to this one called "huang chi". the place is atually quite nice. one thing, always bring your own towels because some of them don't provide.







here comes the horrifying encounter for us. for huang chi, females & males are seperated. so naturally, we went to the ones for the females. therey have all kinds of pools there at the female public area. we were all happily walking in, feeling very excited because the long-awaited hot spring dip is here but what awaits inside the public pool is traumatising! once we stepped into the room, we saw this long stretch of dressing table. then we saw a naked woman standing in front of the mirror, butt facing right into our face! the worst thing is, when she spoke to us, my eyes just went crazy. i have no idea where to look at cause everywhere i look just seems wrong! so awkward! we looked at each other, all with that look of "she's probably one of the "brave" ones la"..until all our expressions changed as soon as we walked further in.








in the pool area itself, everyone is naked! nude bodies everywhere. and mind you, it's nude from head to toe! i wanted to scream! it's quite a bad scene, even now when i'm recalling it. yucks man. it's just like watching porn or RA. my gawd. i've never in my entire 18 yrs, seen so many naked bodies can. and they just sat there, openly, for me to see. just like some exhibits. call me sua ku. conservative. whatever i don't care. this is just too much for me man. and everywhere is naked bodies. i don't wanna be like them. sagging breast. wrinkled skin. layers of fats. just walking ard nude. all of us really freaked out at that horrifying scene man. ahhh.








bad news came and we found out that we can't wear any swimsuits or bikinis in. totally naked. i was like no way! and they can actually tell me that it's unhygienic to wear swimsuits/bikinis in. how ridiculous. in the end, left with no choice, we went to book the private rooms. paid more but we felt much safer. had a dip for 45 mins and it was really really nice. wouldn't mind going again but not to the same operator again..definitely! urgh. trauma man.so lesson learnt: always ask if swimsuits/bikinis are allowed. but if you dont mind going nude, then it's okay.

YANG MING SHAN

Sounds like some very old place right. in fact, it is. actually not a bad place. we went there to see sakura which wasn't at full bloom at that time we went. the stop after hot spring..

DAN SHUI

It's actually called dan shui lao jie. not much shopping for clothes actually. normally in the city itself, it's not easy to find their local products. so dan shui is the place to go. all the tie dans, mochi and tai yang bing. but the lesson learnt is, never buy from the first shop in sight because, the shops behind will definitely be selling these food products at a cheaper price, especially the tie dans! for those who watched mike he & rainie yang's devil beside you, yes, they do have that super tall ice-cream there! my greatest regret was noteating at dan shui itself. urgh. the next trip there, i'm so gonna eat it!

Last stop of the day - SHIH LIN NIGHT MARKET


Okay. basically, it's a place for shopping and for uber good food! the famous "big chicken", "oyster omelette", "chou dou fu" are found here. Shih lin is actually splitted into 2 parts - the food area with all sorts of food and the shopping streets. i tell you, the food is uber good. especially the chicken! YUMMILICOUS! they have this taiwan "delicacy" called "da bing bao xiao bing", it's actually some cracky cracker wrapped in popiah-like skin with 10 over flavours you can choose from. and being typical singaporeans, we actually ordered 9 of them. one each with 2 extras but the thing is, it actually tasted quite normal and you can actually get sick of it. we should have just order 4 for the 7 of us la.




ooh! and i tried smelly beancurd (chou dou fu)! i'm so proud of myself ((: in fact, only me, zhi gang and lynn's ah yi tried. it's not that smelly actually. just like eating normal beancurd. as usual. ate their snow ice, oyster omelette, drank bubble tea, blah. i prefer singapore's oyster omelette tho'. over at taiwan, theirs is similar to singapore's, just that some special gravy is poured over it. and it has way too much starch for my liking. their big chicken (zha ji pa) is very very good. incomparable to singapore's. it's just one big piece, uncut, and you just hold that big piece of chicken and bite. and in taiwan, they sell taiwan sausages that are enormous! it has the length of half of my arm la! can you imagine it!


Shopping over at shih lin was not bad. the younger population of "bosses". we saw illegal vendors there too, those without a shop, just laying clothes on a piece of cloth on the floor or on those carts. the funny thing is all they need is just one policeman on a bike and they can send these illegal vendors running away. but, 5 mins later, these illegal vendors will be back again, for business. it's definitely hilarious to witness such a scene there man. we saw this guy(gino) from a taiwan boyband, called k-one. uber good complexion for a guy. and he was actually standing behind me. when the others told me bout him, i was like "Gino? who?" LOL.




overall, it's the last stop for night market shopping for the entire trip. ate alot as usual, shopped alot, spent alot...the feeling is just too GOOD ((:

it feels good to go on holidays with friends. good experience. didn't wanna leave taiwan at the end of 4 days can. definitely wouldn't mind going back again.
