D.E.C.E.M.B.E.R.

The month of giving ((:
it has been a fantastic month for me.
a very meaningful and interesting one.
making new friends, helping out in church, getting together with old friends, making new ones blah blah.
i glad my year is ending one a happy note ((:

first it was SportLight 08 @ kuo chuan.
it was amzaing how i see God worked when he brought the people...for basketball, for netball, for floorball and for soccer. of course, the good but blazing hot weather! everyone was burnt!
oh...when i was settling all the admin stuff for netball, man...i do feel OLD! there wasn't a single S8*.. all S9*... am i old or what? all of them look like my age lah. it's either i do young, if not they look mature for their age! haha. the admin work itself is madness..totally stress me out. all the numbers and letters! but it was fun still.. and i was literally baking myself under the sun for all 3 days. definitely don't mind helping out again next year!

then it was xmas party at sis' place. we had hotpot which was yummlicious..esp after failed attempts of "making" the soup base boil! hhaa. my bad my bad! the gamblers had a good time i think! and the entertainment by the 2 monkeys from my house made the christmas atmosphere livelier! especially bao and victor, under the control of the 2 girls! haha. got charmed! laughss...

christmas was really well-spent this year, i mus'say. parties here and there ((: i like!
merry mismatched @ mishie's on saturday was so much fun.
every year, it's a tradition to play our toots game and take tons and tons of pictures! there was indeed alot of toot-ing and of course, a lot of food left! and we had new people with us this year!
definitely looking foward to tomorrow's watchnight PJs party at steve's! pam and I made super yummy jellies! so nice it'd make you salivate! haha.

and what's christmas without church's musical? this year's Ashes For Beauty was successful! though not as good as last year's, i've got to say it was a lot of work for the crew! kling even sacrificed her little toe nail! haha!

i can't say enough for how eventful my december was, all i can say was i thank God was using me in his way. in musical, in sportlight.... and also for this peaceful yet eventful year ((:

i'm gonna end the year with 3 parties tomorrow. can't wait!!!! yao guo's. steve's. zirca. yayneeesss.
i'm definitely looking forward to twenty O nine....
a new year a fresh chapter ((:

p/s tons of peektures to load when i have the time!

first day of sportlight was good ((:
couldn't fall asleep at all last night and i ended up with a bad cold today.
stoned the whole day away. haha.
so here i'm home again, to catch my beauty sleep before heading down again in the morning.
it's ALL STARS game tmr! so excited!!!
but the scorching sun was such a bother. i had to squint my eyes to watch the matches!

pretty excited for the rest of the sportlight camp, getting to know more people, play more netball etc etc.
and of course, xmas musical and jas' performance on sat ((:
plus... LOU's flying back tmr!!! YAYNESS!!!

okeydok. time to catch some sleep! laters.

a chapter has to be closed before you can start a new one.
a story that doesn't have an ending is not a complete one.
that's when "the end" comes to play.

and it's about time for me to close this chapter with a "the end".

a new story awaits...

On another note.. I'm thinking that..
it's time to renew my belief in God.
i mean...time to do something about my rather monotonous spiritual life.
not just going to church on sundays but doing something more constructive.

this thought just dawned on me ever since attending the evangelistic musical with haz last week.
and it has repeatedly ran through my mind this two weeks.

steve emailed us the just the other day bout meeting up for bible studies and fellowship every week and i thought, it's really a good idea. despite being away from home, he's nonetheless still concerned with our spiritual life... someone has matured. haha. nevermind bout that but what i thought he said was really true...

that because we have all grew up together, the necessary comfort level has been established , and learning together would bond us further. with the fact that we are all grown ups now, we should really spend some time thinking about the more important things and being responsible for ourselves. which i think, really made sense!

with the xmas season and a whole new year of experiences ahead, i think it's a good time to set my new year resolution and start staying close in God.
in fact, i'm pretty excited ((:

P/S
i don't know why i've been blogging more often these days...probably because many thoughts have been running through my mind ((:
haha. so thought-FUL!

Finally! I smell the sweet scent of my long awaited holidays!!
this exam torture has been a tad too long for my liking. seriously.
i see the level my momentum running lower and lower each day.
today's paper didn't ended well though.
so i'm pinning all my hopes on the "power of the bell curve and moderation".

hahs. still...I'm SO HAPPY!
i'm finally free! to anything i like. anything i want.
how nice!
to lie home all day, be a bummer, watch all the shows i want.
what a bummer!
haha.

happiness.happiness.happiness.

time to play ((:

The road ahead is a long winding one

i went for a walk today.
alone. near my place.
it was pleasantly quiet and peaceful.
in fact, it was rather enjoyable.
to be able to immerse myself, observing my surroundings.
with the ear phones plugged into the ears, the music symbols danced around my ears.
as i walk, i look at the people around me, the things happening around me.
it was nice. something really pleasant to do on my own.
hmm. maybe i should start going for long walks every other day.
it would do good to reduce the pace of the somewhat-hasten steps of my life ((:

however, as much as i love long walks alone, a thought struck me today.
somehow, somewhere in there, i was thinking...maybe..if only...it wouldn't be too bad if.... .....

on another note, i was watching a program on the television just now.
seeing how lucky i am, in my clean house, there are people out there, in singapore living their lives as if they are in a garbage chute.
forget the fact about my rather unkempt room, i am indeed lucky.
as i watch the program, i was thinking, there we are, sitting in front of the television, watching the host narrate the sad life of another person, we were in fact watching it for the entertainment purpose the tv brings us isn't it?

i mean, yes, we are probably aware of how poor some people in this country is. but never have the thought dawn on us that people can be that poor.
an man in his seventies with an initially happy family of 7, lost his 2 daughters after they committed suicide one after another was left with a family of 5 to support. his wife, his other daughter and his only son, all driven to brink of mental breakdown, all waiting for him to support them. how sad life can be sometimes. not only did you lose the closest people around you, you have also been forced to carry a heavy burden with you, to became a pillar of support for others, when you yourself have no one but yourself to continue with this thing called life.
my heart cries out for this poor man.
i don't know why. it's probably because of my weakness for the old, i am actually thinking of joining this group of volunteers to help the other less privileged ones in this society.

i mean thinking bout it.. how lucky are we. we are indeed lucky. not having to worry about our daily meals. there are actually people out there whose definition of "better food" means dishes with rice for 2-3 bucks. we are indeed very very fortunate. thinking bout the slum areas and squatters i saw in bangkok, the children begging on the streets, it pains my heart to seeing people living like this.

come to think of it, how cruel but true the phrase "the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer" is. and why is the world like that? it'd probably takes me forever to figure this out so i guess, the more practical thing to do is to help the less privilege as much as i can.

share the love you have with others who have never tasted it before ((:

p/s a long entry full of thoughts. it has been a long day thinking about these issues. but i guess everyone should start thinking about how they can help others in this "survival for the fittest" society.
